Method for installing a web of insulating material in a plane between two rafters, and suitable web of insulating material
The invention relates to a method for installing a web of insulating material of mineral fiber material for insulating a surface between two rafters, which insulating material is available in the form of a roll. The invention also relates to a web of insulating material for carrying out this method.
Such a method is known, for example, from European patent application 0.101.376. According to this document, a sheet of insulating material with a coating layer glued thereon is used. The web 10 is arranged vertically between two rafters, the insulating material being placed between the rafters and the side edges of the covering layer being secured to the rafters with nails or staples, because otherwise the web of insulating material sinks between the rafters. Since the distance between rafters from house to house and in old buildings often differs from roof section to roof section, strips with different widths are available, each with a width difference of, for example, 100 to 15 mm. Because these different widths are not yet suitable for all spacings between rafters, one or more marking lines have been provided along one or both longitudinal edges of the strip, in order to be able to cut off an edge of the strip and thus give the strip a suitable installation width.
A major drawback of the known method is that for different distances between two rafters, a large number of rolls of insulating material of different widths are manufactured and kept in stock, and have to be kept ready for mounting, the slight differences in size still using the lateral marking lines must be offset by a knife cut. Another drawback of the known method is that the cut edges can no longer be used, which results in large cutting losses. Yet another drawback is that the web must be secured to the rafters with nails or staples, which requires additional material and labor. Yet another drawback is that the long sheet of insulating material cannot be applied by one installer, since it sinks between the rafters.
It is an object of the invention to provide a method for installing a web of insulating material of mineral fiber material between rafters, whereby one width of the insulating material is sufficient.
This object is achieved according to the invention by a method of the type described in the opening paragraph, wherein the rolled-out sheet of insulating material sections are cut with the cut transverse to the sheet direction and with a length corresponding to the distance between the rafters plus an excess, after which the cut-off parts are clamped with their cutting edges clamped against the rafters between the rafters, whereby they hold themselves in place, without the need for further fastening means.
This achieves that the original web of insulating material is cut into sections and each portion is tilted 90 ° to form a new web of insulating material between the rafters. A number of times the width of the original web forms the length of the built-in web, so that one width of the insulating material suffices, which is an important technical advantage in production engineering and is also advantageous for the user, because he does not have rolls of different widths in stock. Since the mineral fiber material has the stiffness of a mineral fiber board, each cut section can be processed as a sheet and placed between the rafters, the consistency of the mineral fiber material corresponding to that of a mineral fiber board, together with the excess for clamping takes care of. Because only a 45 part of a track is always placed between the rafters, the method can be carried out by one installer. The use of the method according to the invention results in little or no loss of material, since no edges are cut off and a last part of the original web can be used together with the start of a new roll, to be clamped as one plate between two rafters. If the length of the track to be built in does not correspond to a whole number of times the width of the original track, a piece is cut off from the last part to be built in, which can then be used for the field between two subsequent rafters, so that no losses occur here.
It is noted that German Offenlegungsschrift 30.32.867 discloses an insulating plate of foamed plastic, which has at least one series of wavy profiling which extends in the longitudinal direction. The 55 wave-shaped profiles are transversely compressible to clamp the sheet between rafters. The insulation board according to this German document is not made of mineral fiber material and is not cut from a roll to clamp it with its cut walls between the rafters.
193112 2
It is also noted that U.S. Pat. No. 3,958,385 shows an insulating blanket in which a semi-rigid glass fiber mat is adhered to a cladding material on one side. Transversely cuts have been made in the mat which extend to the covering material, whereby the insulation blanket can be rolled up. The blanket is placed over the metal frame of a building. A method of cutting the blanket in sections and arranging it between rafters is not known from this document.
The invention also relates to a web of insulating material which in rolled form has a base density of 10 to 30 kg / m3 for carrying out the above-described method, using mineral fiber material having a consistency similar to that of a mineral fiber board, and which path is provided with marking lines, as is also known from European patent application 0.101.376. According to the invention, the marking lines extend transversely of the longitudinal direction of the track, and are equally spaced from each other, preferably 100 mm.
This provides a web of insulating material along its length with transverse marking lines, allowing the installer to accurately cut the basin into sections of the desired length, without having to use a ruler, because after laying down the place of incision the cut can be made by hand parallel to the adjacent marking line.
It should be noted that US Pat. No. 3,814,013 addresses the problems encountered by carpet manufacturers regarding the accurate indication of the carpet produced so that the delivery of an inaccurate length to carpet can be prevented.
In the drawing: figure 1 shows a perspective view of a roll of mineral fiber material with unrolled end section, and figure 2 shows an explanation of the installation of the mineral fiber sheets between roof rails obtained by separating longitudinal parts of the mineral fiber web.
The mineral fiber web 1 shown in figure 1, of which the front end portion 2 is shown unrolled, is in the exemplary embodiment an uncovered basin with a width of 1200 mm, a nominal thickness of 100 mm and a length of 6 meters. At a crude density of, for example, 18 kg / m3 and a binder content of phenolic resin of 6.6% by weight (dry), a material of the heat conducting group 040 is obtained.
It is pointed out that the position of the mineral fiber web 1 with only partially unrolled front end portion 2 shown in figure 1 does not occur in practice without the application of corresponding retaining forces, since the internal tension in the coil of the roller indicated by 3 is so large that when the envelope is removed, the entire wrapper opens and the mineral fiber web 1 fully stretches, as shown in the drawing for the front end portion 2. This not only because of the compression of the material in the wrapper, for example in the ratio 1: 2.5, but also because of the spring-back force of the mineral fiber material itself. As shown in Figure 1, the mineral fiber material springs back to its nominal thickness upon unrolling. When manufacturing the mineral fiber web 1 in the production line, an excess of 10 mm in thickness is used. After compression of this material in the roll over a longer period of time, it springs back to its nominal thickness of, for example, 100 mm.
Marking lines 45 are provided on the surface 4 of the mineral fiber web, which is located in the wrapper, and which run perpendicular to the side walls 6 of the mineral fiber web 1 and parallel to the front edge 7 of the mineral fiber web 1. In the example, the marking lines 5 may be equidistant, the distance d between two adjacent marking lines could be 100 mm. Even shown in Figure 1, the marking lines 5 need not be continuous lines, but may also be broken lines. It is important, however, that the marking lines 5 are not formed by cuts or the like, but are only optically active and do not appreciably affect the handling and processing of the material of the mineral fiber web 1.
In order to fill a track field with the width D shown in Figure 2 of, for example, 700 mm, a longitudinal section L with a length of 710 mm is taken along the marking lines 5, taking into account the excess U of, for example, 10 mm necessary for pressing. leading edge 7 of 55 measured the mineral fiber web 1 and cut at 7 '. For this purpose, a knife 8 is placed on the measured cutting line in the manner shown in figure 1 and drawn through the material in the direction of the arrow 9 parallel to the adjacent marking line 5.
